Paul Guillie named Coordinator of Baseball Umpires

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --Paul Guillie, who has served as an umpire in the Southeastern Conference for the last 24 years and is a veteran official of the College World Series, has been named Coordinator of Baseball Umpires for the SEC, it was announced Tuesday.

Guillie, a native of New Orleans, La., will be responsible for recruiting, training, scheduling and evaluating umpires for SEC baseball games. A graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University, Guillie has been selected to work the SEC Tournament on 20 occasions, has been chosen to work 19 NCAA Regional Tournaments and 14 Super Regional Tournaments and has been selected to serve as an umpire in the College World Series on four occasions.

Guillie replaces Tony Thompson who retired from his position as SEC Coordinator of Umpires in May of this year.
