2016 SEC Women's Golf Awards announced

The Southeastern Conference on Tuesday announced its annual Women's Golf Awards, which were voted on by the league's 14 head coaches.

The 2016 All-SEC teams and a complete list of awards are listed below.

NCAA Women's Regionals will be held later this week, May 5-7.

Kelly Grassel, Florida

  • During the 2015-16 school year Grassel has accumulated over seven hours of community service hours. Including, volunteering for over three hours at a local elementary school, all while earning a 3.58 GPA.
  • She has also been instrumental in the Gators' six team titles, taking home an individual trophy for herself in the spring opener (Florida Challenge) and five top-25 finishes. Her season stroke average of 73.15 ranks in the top-25 of all SEC golfers.

Sylvie Brick, Georgia

  • UGA's female nominee for the 2016 Brad Davis Community Service Award
  • Female recipient of the "Peach of an Athlete Award" from the Atlanta Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America at the organization's annual Role Model Banquet
  • Current president of UGA's Student-Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC)
  • Coordinated the women's golf team's participation at the Halloween Carnival at Hope Haven, a private non-profit corporation whose primary purpose is to provide services for individuals with developmental disabilities who reside in the Athens-Clarke and surrounding counties
  • Organized the team's building of bookshelves as part of the Family Literacy Project of Athens; and served a key role in the production of the UGA SAAC's production of a "No More" public service announcement against domestic violence and sexual assault.
  • In addition, has assisted with: the UGA Special Olympics Prom; Home Runs for Hometown Rivals, a Special Olympics softball game at UGA's Foley Field; the UGA Girls Golf Day; Girl Power Day at Georgia women's basketball games; UGA Athletic Association's Hunger Bowl; and UGA SAAC's Valentine fundraiser for Relay for Life.

Ale Walker, Kentucky

  • Has documented 104.5 hours of community service since July 1
  • Traveled to Ethiopia in the summer of 2015 as a part of a UK Athletics service trip
  • In Ethiopia, helped construct housing for widows
  • Delivered beds and mattresses to lepers in Ethiopia
  • Served food to orphans in Ethiopia ... Delivered hygiene supplies to the imprisoned in Ethiopia
  • Has rang the Salvation Army bells on three different occasions this year
  • Actively involved in UK's backpack program with God's Pantry, filling backpacks with food supplies and delivering them to local elementary schools.

Claudia De Antonio, LSU

  • Involved in such activities as the school President's Move-In Day in which upper classmen helped Freshman and their parents move into their dorms
  • Annual Halloween BOOzar in which the sports set up booths to celebrate Halloween with nearby kids
  • Thanksgiving with the Tigers that brings together underprivileged Children for a holiday celebration
  • Sickle Cell Christmas event and also took part in women's golf clinics to help people get a chance to learn the game.

Alison Hovatter, Ole Miss

Logan Chaney, Mississippi State

  • Participated in the Walk To School Day for Starkville elementary schools
  • Won Sprit of the State Award

  • Frances Newsome Scholar Athlete of the year
  • Lone Senior on MSU 2015-16 team
  • Played in Four Tournaments this season for the Bulldogs
  • 4.0 GPA

Jessica Meek, Missouri

  • Volunteered 20 hours at The Bluffs assisted living home
  • Involved with Special Olympics
  • Columbia Golf Foundation (played 18 holes with young girls and taught them about golf)
  • Assisted with The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri.

Marianna Monaco, South Carolina

  • Totaled 26.75 hours of community service
  • Build a Bike (Constructed bikes for holiday distribution)
  • National Girls and Women in Sports Day (Meet and greet autograph session at women's basketball game.
  • Spring Valley Baseball Booster Club (Clean up field, work concession stand)

Teleri Hughes, Tennessee

  • Hughes is an active member of Tennessee's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
  • She is a volunteer at UT golf clinics and with the MBA Grads to Golf program.
  • Hughes exchanges pen pal letters with elementary school children and participates in movie nights and VOLoween with local youth organizations.
  • She also helped with the holiday dinner for the Knoxville Ministry Center and fulfilled wish lists through the Christmas Angel Tree program during the holidays.

Callie Scheffler, Texas A&M

  • Scheffler is president of A&M's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and has been involved with the Big Event, Hard Hats for Little Heads, Aggie Athletes Involved and Aggies CAN.
  • In addition, Scheffler is involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, YMCA CHAMPS and Habitat for Humanity.

Lauren Johnson, Vanderbilt

  • Every week since the beginning of the school year, Johnson has a two-hour tutoring session at the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital
  • Johnson served at the Children's Hospital for eight Mondays in the fall semester, and is expected to have 10 tutoring sessions this spring
