Sixteen SEC teams in latest national rankings

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- A total of 16 Southeastern Conference men's and women's track and field programs are included in the latest U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Rankings released Monday.

A nation-leading eight SEC men's teams are ranked, including Florida at No. 1, LSU at No. 2, Arkansas at No. 5, Texas A&M at No. 6, Georgia at No. 7, Alabama at No. 11, Tennessee at No. 14 and South Carolina at No. 25. No other conference has more than five teams ranked in the top-25.

A nation-leading eight SEC women's teams are ranked in the top-25, including five in the top-seven. Arkansas is No. 2, Georgia is No. 3, Florida, Kentucky and LSU are Nos. 5, 6 and 7, respectively, Ole Miss is No. 11, Alabama is No. 17 and Tennessee is No. 21. No other conference has more than three women's programs ranked in the top-25.

The 2017 SEC Indoor Track and Field Championships will take place Feb. 24-25 in Nashville, Tenn.
