Sixteen SEC teams in latest national rankings

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- A total of 16 Southeastern Conference men's and women's track and field programs are included in the latest U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Rankings released Monday.

A nation-leading seven SEC men's teams are ranked, including five in the top-six. Florida is again No. 1, while Arkansas, Texas A&M, LSU and Georgia are Nos. 3-6. Tennessee is ranked No. 10, and Alabama is ranked No. 20. No other conference has more than four teams ranked in the top-25.

A nation-best nine SEC women's programs are ranked, including four of the top-six and eight of the top-12. Georgia is ranked No. 2, Arkansas is No. 3, LSU is No. 5 and Kentucky No. 6. Alabama, Florida, Ole Miss and Texas A&M are Nos. 9-12. Mississippi State came in at No. 25.

The 2017 SEC Indoor Track and Field Championships will take place Feb. 24-25 in Nashville, Tenn.
