Three SEC teams receive NIT bids

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Three schools from the Southeastern Conference will continue postseason play in the National Invitation Tournament. Georgia, Ole Miss and Alabama have all received bids.

The Bulldogs (19-14) earned a No. 2 seed and will face No. 7 Belmont (22-6) on March 15 in Athens, Georgia. The winner of the game will face the victor of No. 3 seed Indiana (18-15) and No. 6 seed Georgia Tech (17-15) at a time and date to be determined.

Alabama (19-14) was awarded a No. 3 seed and will play No. 6 seed Richmond (20-12) on March 14 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The winner of the game will face the victor of No. 2 seed Clemson (17-15) and No. 7 seed Oakland (24-8) at a time and date to be determined. (edited)

Ole Miss (20-13) received a No. 5 seed and is set to compete against No. 4 seed Monmouth (27-6) on March 14 in West Long Branch, New Jersey. The winner of the game will face the victor of No. 1 seed Syracuse and No. 8 seed UNC Greensboro at a time and date to be determined.

The 32-team tournament concludes on March 30 in Madison Square Garden.
