2017 SEC Men's Tennis Community Service Team

Birmingham, Ala. - In a continuing effort to recognize the accomplishments of student-athletes beyond the field of competition, the SEC once again highlighted a Community Service Team for men's tennis for the 2016-17 season.

All league-sponsored sports have had a Community Service Team since 2004, with at-large teams for men's and women's sports being chosen from 1999-2003.

Ritchie Kruunenberg • Alabama
Senior • Nieuw-Vennep, Netherlands
Has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and Rock Quarry Elementary.

Branch Terrell • Arkansas
RS Sophomore • Benton, Ark.
Member of SAAC... Helped collect household items for flood victims for Operation Baton Rouge... Helped with Christmas Shop with Razorbacks at Toys-R-Us... Volunteered with youths at Baldwin Baptist Church... Named to the 2015 and 2016 SEC Community Service Team after serving as the as a member on the SAAC Executive Board as the Community Engagement Chairperson.

Richie Sivalls • Auburn
Sophomore • Midland, Texas
Men's tennis representative on Auburn Student-Athlete Advisory Committee... Involved with the Beat Bama food drive... Works with Toys for Tots annual collection and distribution... Volunteered at the Downtown Auburn Trick or Treat festival, the annual campus Student-Athlete Day and the SAAC clothing drive... Also involved at home as a Keep Midland Beautiful volunteer and in a youth singing group that sings for funerals.

McClain Kessler • Florida
Sophomore • Calhoun, Ga.
Has worked with Gator Move, an initiative for Gator student-athletes to help educate and encourage healthy lifestyles for young children in the community... Has also worked with Gator Tracks which provides shoes for students in seven schools in Alachua County on free or reduced lunch and Gators in Motion. Also participated in the Thanksgiving Food Drive.

Walker Duncan • Georgia
Sophomore • Atlanta, Ga.
Routinely volunteers in the community and has been a part of several special initiatives... Has been active with the 'Be the Match' bone marrow initiative and often volunteers at soup kitchens during visits back home to Atlanta... Walker has also used his tennis skills to help teach tennis lessons to under privileged children.

Has volunteered in the campus wide Louisiana Flood Relief Drive... Worked in elementary schools in Lexington in the Read Across America program... Also helped pack and deliver food for the local "backpack" program at UK.

Justin Butsch • LSU
Sophomore • Miami, Fla.
Has gone into classrooms and read to elementary school children... Also an active participant in LSU's Trick or Treat Down the Row, a safe Halloween event for local children... Participates in Thanksgiving with the Tigers, an annual Christmas-themed community engagement initiative where each team adopts a child through the Alaska Street Boys and Girls Club for Christmas, and provides him or her with Christmas presents.

Nuno Borges • Mississippi State

Has participated in many university-led initiatives to spread the game of tennis in his short time at MSU... Speaks to numerous Greek sororities to help them better understand the game of tennis... Has also given his time at the M-Club, by attending meetings in an effort to better the student-athlete relationships... In addition to his volunteer work, this spring Borges won MSU's Newsom Award (given annually to the top student-athlete for each team on campus) after his hard work in the classroom.

Led the overall execution of this year's Carolina vs. Clemson Food Drive... Has been a leader for the men's tennis team's involvement with Team Impact in which the program has sponsored two children diagnosed with a rare form of eye cancer... Participated in the MayDay parade and recess activities at Hand Middle School... Part of the event staff and preparation for Field Day at Hand Middle School... Has gone to multiple elementary and middle schools to read to the students and help them learn the importance of reading.

Sunay Bhat • Tennessee
Senior • Knoxville, Tenn.
Team representative on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee since Fall 2015 ... Assisted with Knoxville Marathon runner support and outreach for the Sean Karl Foundation ... Worked with the Volunteer Ministry Center for clothing and holiday dinner distribution for the underprivileged in the area ... Helped with tutoring and tennis lessons at the local Big Brothers Big Sisters chapter ... Assisted with gardening at the Beardsley Community Farm, a garden for low income families ... Participated in the Read Across America Day at a local elementary school ... Participated in Voloween, a Halloween event for children of UT staff and faculty.

Worked with a group to raise money, supplies and toys for the Aggieland Humane Society... Group organized a fundraising effort for the Humane Society to set up a toy drive at a pet store... Volunteered at the Bryan Animal Shelter to work with the animals available for adoption... Spent time cleaning pens and work areas as well as walking animals... Worked with family friend to donate clothes and shoes to families in Juarez, Mexico that are in need... Member of the Texas A&M Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
