SEC announces 2017 Women's Golf Awards

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Southeastern Conference on Thursday announced its annual Women's Golf Awards, which were voted on by the league's 14 head coaches.

The 2017 All-SEC teams and a complete list of awards are listed below.

NCAA Women's Regionals will be held later this week, May 8-10.

  • Kelli has been a WGCA Academic All American the two past years

  • This year she has increased her service by leading the women's golf team to 2nd place in the fall canned food drive, leader in organizing our team in purchasing Christmas gifts for needy families.
  • She really overachieved when she organized a golf camp/clinic for the Auburn Student Veterans. The clinic was featured on website.

  • Helped collect toiletries from traveling with team to donate for Project Safe

  • Participated in the "NO More" and "It's on Us" Campaigns as well as the "End It" Movement

Grace Rose, Kentucky

  • Documented nearly 120 hours of community service during her career.
  • Traveled to Ethiopia in the summer of 2016 as a part of a UK Athletics service trip ... Helped construct housing for windows, delivered beds and mattresses to lepers, served food to orphans, and delivered hygiene supplies to the imprisoned during Ethiopia trip.
  • Annual participant in UK's Backpack Program with God's Pantry, where student-athletes fill backpacks with food supplies and deliver them to local elementary schools.
  • Volunteered for bell ringing with the Salvation Army multiple times during the holiday season to raise money for homeless families.
  • Volunteered at a meal-packing event at Grace Christian Church in Georgetown.
  • Helped with the UK Blanket Project in which all of UK's student-athletes put together blankets and deliver them to sick children in the Children's Hospital around the holidays.
  • Volunteered for the Louisiana flood relief drive ... Also participated in Breakfast with Santa and volunteer at Shriners Hospital.

Sydney Cavin, LSU

  • Sydney joined many LSU athletes in helping with the victims of the devastating August floods, helping remove furniture and debris from people's houses, including homes of LSU Athletic staff.
  • Also involved in the LSU Boo-Zar which gives children a safe way to spend Halloween, the Thanksgiving and Christmas with the Tigers as well as participating in golf's visit to the Children's Hospital at Our Lady of the Lake.

Marianna Monaco, South Carolina

  • Totaled 78.5 hours of community service throughout the 2016-17 season
  • Volunteered for Tunnel To Towers, Build-a-Bike, St. Margaret's Church, Spring Valley Baseball and Toys for Tots

Blakesly Warren, Tennessee

  • The junior is an active member of Tennessee's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
  • Over the past year, she has volunteered at UT golf clinics and with the MBA Grads to Golf program.
  • Warren also exchanged pen pal letters with local elementary school children and took part in the annual VOLoween.
  • Warren also volunteered at the holiday dinner for the Knoxville Ministry Center and during the Gatlinburg relief efforts, delivering and sorting donations.

Callie Scheffler, Texas A&M

  • Served as the president of Texas A&M's Student Athlete Advisory Committee
  • Was the chair of Aggies CAN, the largest student-athlete run canned food drive in the nation
  • Chair for Texas A&M portion of Hard Hats for Little Heads, which provides bicycle helmets for elementary school kids
  • Volunteers at local elementary schools, reading to those students
  • Coordinator of Aggie Athletes Involved, which sets up community service projects for Aggie Athletes
  • Coordinated the Aggie Athletes Involved Coat Drive, which donates winter coats to Twin City Missions

Lauren Johnson, Vanderbilt

  • Volunteers on a weekly basis (2 hours per week) with the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital where she works as a tutor with the hospital school program, providing assistance with homework and tutoring services to children staying in the hospital on a long-term basis.
  • Also volunteers with Code Ignite, a student organization that teaches middle school students the basics in coding, logic and commands.
