Six SEC cross country teams ranked in preseason poll

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-----Six Southeastern Conference cross country programs are ranked among the nation's top-30 in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Preseason NCAA Division I Cross Country National Coaches Poll, which was announced on Tuesday.

Arkansas is ranked fourth on the men's side and 12th on the women's side. The Ole Miss men check in at No. 19, while the Missouri women are No. 15, the Ole Miss women at No. 18, and the Mississippi State women are No. 23.

SEC teams included among the others receiving votes are the Alabama men and Vanderbilt women.

The 2017 SEC Cross Country Championships will take place Friday, Oct. 27 in Athens, Ga.
