SEC Offensive Player of the Week - Mississippi State's Brooke McKee, a junior forward from Madison, Ala., played a huge role in Mississippi State's success, netting 3 of the Bulldogs' 4 goals. McKee had a knack for scoring on Thursday in Athens, netting a pair of goals in MSU's 3-0 victory at Georgia. On Sunday against Ole Miss, McKee continued her scoring frenzy by scoring on a corner kick with a fade-away header that sailed just over the goalkeeper's reach for her eighth goal of the season. McKee's eight goals scored continues to build on her career-best season.
SEC Defensive Player of the Week - Mississippi State's Catalina Perez, a senior goalkeeper from Boca Raton, Fla., notched her fifth clean sheet of the season in a 3-0 victory at Georgia on Oct. 19. In the shutout against the Bulldogs, Perez played a huge role in organizing the Bulldogs' back line to limit Georgia's chances. Perez tallied four saves to keep the Bulldogs off the board, displaying her excellent athleticism on several occasions to knock shots away while also stopping potential Georgia chances. In Sunday's draw against Ole Miss, Perez was again spectacular, hauling in six saves and preventing countless chances by again coming off her line and organizing the Bulldogs' back line.
SEC Freshman of the Week - Alabama's Chloe Maize, a freshman forward from Cleveland, Tenn., netted her second goal of the season, and her first game-winner of her career, in the 74th minute on the road to propel the Crimson Tide over the Arkansas Razorbacks, 1-0. Maize's goal to shut out the Razorbacks solidified Alabama's first conference road win of the season and snapped a two-game losing streak to Arkansas.
