LOUISVILLE, Ky.-----The 2017 cross country season came to a conclusion Saturday as six SEC teams competed in the NCAA Championships at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park.
On the men's side, Arkansas finished fifth , Alabama was 14th and Ole Miss placed 18th. Two of Alabama's runners placed in the top-10 with Gilbert Kigen coming in fourth with an 8k time of 29:11.90, and SEC champion Vincent Kiprop was seventh at 29:27.13.
Arkansas was also the top women's finisher from the SEC, placing 13th, while Georgia was 17th and Ole Miss was 25th. Defending NCAA champion and two-time SEC champion Karrisa Schweizer of Missouri was 11th.
Northern Arizona took home the men's title, while New Mexico claimed the women's crown.
