SEC Player of the Week - Arkansas' Daryl Macon
Macon, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound senior guard from Little Rock, Ark., had 25 points, five assists, three rebounds and three steals in a win over Troy. Macon recorded his third 20-point effort this season, sixth of his career, scoring 25 points on 8-of-14 shooting, including hitting five 3-pointers. He finished the game with five assists and zero turnovers. Macon has three straight games with five-plus assists, giving him 20 total dimes to just three turnovers in that stretch.
SEC Freshman of the Week - Kentucky's Hamidou Diallo
Diallo, a 6-foot-5, 198-pound guard from Queens, N.Y., had 20 points, five rebounds and three steals in a win over Virginia Tech. Ahead 75-71, Diallo made a 3-pointer with 4:54 left to give UK its then-largest lead of the game at 78-71. Then, clinging to an 85-83 lead, Diallo swished another 3 with 48 seconds left to keep the visitors at bay. He made four of seven from behind the arc. He's posted three straight games with two or more steals and scored 19 or more points in four straight games and is averaging 20.3 points over his last four games.
