Player of the Week

Reigning SEC Player of the Year, Astra Sharma has clinched three of the Commodore's four victories. Sharma clinched Vandy's sweep over No. 1 Stanford on Saturday. The Cardinal have not been swept in records dating back to 1998-99. Since joining the Commodores after her grand slam debut in the Australia Open doubles tournament, Sharma boasts a 4-0 singles record. Sharma went undefeated in doubles on the weekend, clinching the doubles point over Stanford. Unranked Sharma/Contreras knocked off Stanford's No. 3 Emily Arbuthnott/ Michaela Gordon 6-3. Sharma sits two victories away from her 100th-career singles win. She boasts a 98-29 overall singles record.

Freshman of the Week

South Carolina's Megan Davies recorded the first sweeping singles win in 12 games for the Gamecocks this season, defeating Constanza Gorches, 6-0, 6-0. The win was her second straight against Gorches, who she defeated in South Carolina's previous match against Clemson on Jan. 27. With the win, Davies now owns a three-match winning streak in 2018 dual match singles play. Davies also leads the Gamecocks with a team-high 18 wins for fall and spring play in 2017-18. Her win in doubles with Rachel Rohrabacher helped the Gamecocks capture the doubles point and sweep Clemson in a 4-0 victory. The pair is 2-0 in doubles in 2018 dual match play.
