Game 1

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The No. 11 Tennessee softball team scored three runs in the first inning and three more in the third to claim a 6-0 victory over UC Davis on Saturday at the Kajikawa Classic.

With the win, the Lady Vols (5-0) begin their schedule with five consecutive victories for the second season in a row. Caylan Arnold and Matty Moss put together a combined effort on the mound, with Arnold allowing one hit and striking out four batters through three innings, and Moss (3-0) yielding two hits while striking out seven over four innings.

The Lady Vols wasted no time showcasing their offensive firepower, as they scored three runs in the top of the first inning. Aubrey Leach got things going with a leadoff walk and after she advanced to third via a stolen base and passed ball, Cailin Hannon singled and stole to get two runners in scoring position. Sophomore Chelsea Seggern stepped in next and took a 1-2 pitch over the right field fence to put UT ahead, 3-0.

Meghan Gregg led off the third inning with a single up the middle. After Seggern flied out to left field, Scarlet McSwain continued her hot start to the season with her third home run of the tournament that gave Tennessee a five-run lead. Freshman Ashley Morgan followed up McSwain with her first homer in the orange and white, a solo shot that made it 6-0 in favor of the Lady Vols. Morgan finished 2-for-3 on the day.

Game 2

TEMPE, Ariz. - Abby Lockman's bases-clearing double in the seventh gave Tennessee softball a 6-5 walkoff win over No. 15 Utah on Saturday. With the win, the Lady Vols wrapped up the Kajikawa Classic with a mark of 6-0.

No. 11 Tennessee had to stage a comeback before the dramatic finish, as Utah led 5-0 after four and a half innings.

The Utes opened the contest with a three-run first inning, then tacked on two more runs in the top of the fifth. But Utah left the bases loaded in that frame, and Tennessee responded in the bottom of the fifth with a pair of runs.

Aubrey Leach singled to left field to get things started, before scoring on a Chelsea Seggern triple. Scarlet McSwain followed that with a sacrifice fly to left, cutting the lead to 5-2.

Lockman cut the lead to 5-3 with a leadoff home run to right center, her first of the season, in the bottom of the sixth.

Meghan Gregg got things going in the bottom of the seventh with a double to right center, before C.J. McClain pinch ran for her. Seggern singled, then McSwain walked to load the bases with one out. A fielder's choice then left the Lady Vols with the bases loaded and two outs.

But Lockman came through again, rifling a double to left that scored all three runs and ended the game.

Lockman was 3-for-4 at the plate with four RBIs.

Tennessee will be in Clearwater, Fla. this coming Friday through Sunday for the Michele Smith Tournament.
