Freshman of the Week
Georgia's Katarina Jokic was the only freshman in the ITA National Team Indoors to win all three of her doubles matches. Playing on court No. 2 in doubles, Jokic had two point clinchers - one of which was against the second-ranked tandem in the nation. Jokic and partner Mariana Gould improved to a perfect 6-0 in dual play, winning every match played. In singles, Jokic faced three opponents ranked in the top-15 at the National Indoors, which stood as the toughest slate for a freshman. All of Jokic's matches occurred on the No. 1 court and the one win marked the only freshman victory on court No. 1 in the tournament. In total, freshmen went 1-5 with seven unfinished while playing No. 1. The victory over No. 9 Samantha Harris of Duke marked the freshman's highest-ranked win of the 2017-18 season. Jokic is 8-2 against ranked opponents overall including a 6-0 record inside the top-25. The two unfinished matches marked her first non-finished matches of the dual season as she came into the tournament 3-0. Jokic led the top-ranked player in the country, Bianca Turati, at the time of Georgia's clinch.
