Player of the Week

Diana Tkachenko helped stretch Kentucky's win streak to five, going undefeated in singles this week. She has won four straight singles matche and earned her first ranked singles win of the season vs. No. 22 Arizona State, taking down No. 107 Nicole Fossa Huergo in straight sets. She teamed with Justina Mikulskyte to post a 6-0 victory in doubles over Eastern Kentucky's Lagoda/Demcenkova and battled through a 10-point super tiebreak to defeat EKU's Alexandra Belle, 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (6) and keep her four-match streak going.

Freshman of the Week

Auburn's Madeline Meredith has gotten off to a great start in her freshman spring campaign, posting an 11-1 singles record and a 9-3 doubles record. The Birmingham, Ala., native was perfect over the weekend, maintaining composure in each match, whether she dominated or came from behind to win. Meredith is now on a six-game winning streak in singles and a four-game winning streak in doubles. The freshman continued her success in singles, sparking the Tigers to victory by claiming the first singles point of the match against Denver and Alabama. Meredith also evened a tightly contested match at three all with her win against Illinois. Meredith teamed up with fellow freshman Jaeda Daniel as the only tandem for the Tigers to win every doubles set in all three matches, which again displayed her high level of play over the weekend. Meredith has been a consistent, successful presence for the Tigers this season, something unusual for a freshman.
