Barnhill named 2018 Academic All-America of the Year

Florida junior pitcher Kelly Barnhill has been selected as the 2018 recipient of the Academic All-America® of the Year award for Division I softball and headlines the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division I Softball Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

A public relations major with a 3.92 GPA, Barnhill was one of four finalists for the 2018 USA Softball Collegiate National Player of the Year award, an honor she earned in 2017. She was named the SEC Pitcher of the Year for the second consecutive season and received National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region honors for the third year in a row. A two-time Google Cloud First-Team Academic All-America® selection, Barnhill was the 2017 Honda Sport Award recipient in softball and the espnW Player of the Year. She is a two-time NFCA First-Team All-America honoree and is currently a member of the USA Softball Women's National Team.
