SEC represented on MLB All-Star rosters

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Major League Baseball All-Star Game rosters include five players from Southeastern Conference institutions.

Former SEC players on the American League roster include first baseman Mitch Moreland (Mississippi State-Boston Red Sox), third baseman Alex Bregman (LSU-Houston Astros) and catcher Yan Gomes (Tennessee-Cleveland Indians).

National League players from SEC institutions include pitchers Aaron Nola (LSU-Philadelphia Phillies) and Max Scherzer (Missouri-Washington Nationals).

Bregman is also slated to participate in the Home Run Derby on Monday.

The 2018 MLB All-Star Game will be played Tuesday in Washington, D.C.
