SEC Player of the Week - LSU guard Tremont Waters, a 5-foot-11, 175-pound sophomore from New Haven, Conn., averaged 22.5 points, 7.5 assists, five steals and 3.5 rebounds in wins at Mississippi State and against Auburn. LSU rallied from 10 down in the second half to win, 92-88, in overtime at Mississippi State and from 16 down in the first half to beat Auburn in Baton Rouge, 83-78. He had 26 points on 11-of-18 shooting from the field to go with five assists and five steals at Mississippi State. Waters had his fourth double-double of the season with 19 points, 10 assists and five steals against Auburn. It was his fifth double figure assist game of the season.
SEC Freshman of the Week - LSU forward Naz Reid, a 6-foot-10, 250-pound freshman from Asbury Park, N.J., averaged 21 points and 10 rebounds at Mississippi State and against Auburn. Reid equaled his career high with 29 points to go with nine rebounds against the Bulldogs. He scored seven of LSU's nine points in the overtime period against MSU. He had 13 points and 11 rebounds against Auburn for his second double-double in conference play.
