For the fifth time since 1995, the Georgia Dome will host the SEC Men's Basketball Tournament. The Georgia Dome is the largest cable-supported domed stadium in the world. The state of Georgia owns the facility, and it is operated by the Georgia World Congress Center Authority.

Combined with the adjacent Georgia World Congress Center and Centennial Olympic Park in the heart of downtown Atlanta, the three facilities compose one of the largest sports, entertainment and convention complexes in the world.

The Georgia Dome holds 71,500 for football and 26,000 for the SEC Men's Basketball Tournament, but it is still has an intimate feel due to extraordinary architectural planning.

The stadium is oval, with seats set closely to the field. The Teflon/fiberglass roof gives a sense of closure, yet still allows in sunlight for natural illumination.

The Georgia Dome will also play host to the SEC Men's Basketball Tournament in four of the next six years - 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2008 - and the NCAA Final Four in 2002 and 2007.

The SEC Football Championship Game will be played at the Dome through 2005. The 1997 SEC Football Championship Game established a Georgia Dome sporting event attendance record of 74,896.
