The Gaylord Entertainment Center, host of the 2002 Southeastern Conference Women's Basketball Tournament, is one of the finest facilities of its kind in America, while uniquely embracing Nashville's heritage as "Music City, U.S.A."

The arena site is conveniently located in the heart of Music City, directly across the street from the Nashville Convention Center and a few blocks away from the city's historic Second Avenue district.

The arena's impact on Nashville is evident as the downtown district bustles with activity. A wealth of restaurants, shops and entertainment venues are within walking distance of the arena. The Nashville International Airport is a quick seven-mile drive, and the arena is within a half-mile of three major interstate arteries.

The Gaylord Entertaiment Center will also be host of the 2004 SEC Women's and the 2006 SEC Men's Basketball Tournaments.

Here are a few quick facts about the Gaylord Entertainment Center:

  • The arena design features a 22-story tower that houses in its base the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau visitors' center and a small theater.
  • Square footage totals more than 1 million.
  • Seating capacity is approximately 20,000 for concerts, 18,500 for basketball and 17,500 for ice hockey.
  • There are four levels of seating at the arena. Disabled-accessible seating is available at every level.
  • 72 luxury suites are located in the arena.
  • Linked to the Nashville Convention Center by a climate-controlled pedestrian walkway, the arena is able to accommodate large conventions and major national entertainment and sporting events.
  • The Gaylord Entertainment Center is conveniently located less than a half-mile from I-65, I-24, I-40 and within one mile of seven major local interchanges.
  • The arena brings the addition of 1,500 new parking spaces for the venue and neighboring facilities, bringing the total to 12,500 public parking spaces available within 1,500 feet of the facility.

Gaylord Entertainment Center main entrance is located at the corner of Broadway and 5th Avenue.

Coming to Gaylord Entertainment Center from the West on I-40 Follow I-40 East to Nashville. Exit at Broadway (209B). Turn left onto Broadway and Gaylord Entertainment Center will be on your right, between 6th and 5th Avenues.

Coming to Gaylord Entertainment Center from the East on I-40 Follow I-40, taking the Memphis fork at the split. Exit at Broadway (209A). Turn right onto Broadway and Gaylord Entertainment Center will be on your right, between 6th and 5th Avenues.

Coming to Gaylord Entertainment Center from the North on I-65 Follow I-65 South to I-40 West. Exit at 2nd Avenue South and turn left. Take a left onto Demonbreun Street and Gaylord Entertainment Center will be on your right, between 5th and 6th Avenues.

Coming to Gaylord Entertainment Center from the South on I-65 Follow I-65 North to I-40 West towards Memphis. Exit at Broadway (209A). Turn right onto Broadway and Gaylord Entertainment Center will be on your right between 6th and 5th Avenue.

Coming to Gaylord Entertainment Center from the East on I-24 Follow I-24 West to I-40 West towards Memphis. Exit at Broadway (209A). Turn right onto Broadway and Gaylord Entertainment Center will be on your right, between 6th and 5th Avenues.

Coming to Gaylord Entertainment Center from the West on I-24 Follow I-24 East to the 265 loop towards Memphis. Take the I-40 West fork and follow the signs to Nashville. Exit at Broadway (209B). Turn left onto Broadway and Gaylord Entertainment Center will be on your right between 6th and 5th Avenues.
