QUOTES FROM TODAY'S TELECONFERENCE

Norm DeBriyn, Arkansas: "We are obviously excited to be in the SEC tournament. Our situation coming down to the last game of the season whether we will be in the tournament was exciting and it was a good night Sunday night compared to Saturday night. We are just looking forward to it. We are going to just approach South Carolina like we feel is best and go from there."

Ron Polk, Mississippi State: "We have somewhat of a championship environment here this past Sunday. It was like playing in a regional tournament because our backs were against the wall and there was some scoreboard watching. It was some great wins for our kids and we swung the bats well. We came out and won all three and we haven't swept anyone all year. I felt bad for the Ole Miss coaches and their kids after the game, but not that bad. We just caught Ole Miss at the right time and luckily we were playing at home."

David Perno, Georgia: "I'm a little disappointed and you never want to lose five games in a row heading into a tournament. Obviously we have to turn it around, but it will only take one or two things. I think we are still playing with confidence and I think we are battle tested. I feel we have played a great schedule this season and that will only prepare us for this time of year. We just want to come out a play well against a good Florida team."

Steve Renfroe, Auburn: "We played our best baseball the last several week and they are ready to go. We are looking forward to getting to Hoover and playing in this tournament. This is the best tournament this side of Omaha. It's been 18 years since the SEC has been less than five teams in a Regional, so when you finish a regular season in the SEC as the fifth seed that is something that is hard to overlook."

Smoke Laval, LSU: "We are playing better ball late than we did earlier in the conference. We seem to have our health back under us to solidify our pitching rotation. This is really a new season with the SEC tournament and hopefully you move on and begin another new season with the NCAA regional and so on. It is going to be interesting to see if we can keep the focus and intensity up because a lot of guys have never been there before."

Pat McMahon, Florida: "We are very excited about the opportunity to play in the SEC tournament. Tournament time is a very exciting time of year. I am very proud of our club and the effort they gave throughout the year. I think the SEC is one of the best baseball conferences in the nation from top to bottom and this weekend will show that."

Jim Wells, Alabama: "We are coming off a rough weekend at LSU having been swept. Pitching wise we are in pretty good shape, but hitting wise we are struggling. We haven't had a lull all year, but we are having a little bit of one now and we need to get out of it. There's a little cause for concern there, but I am proud of my team because we have played well all year. You don't see many clubs who do not have a bad weekend throughout the whole year and ours just happened to come on the last weekend of the year."

Ray Tanner, South Carolina: "It was great to wake up this morning being the overall champion. Going into this weekend I knew it would be tough for us to hang on for the overall championship, but LSU had a great weekend and the allowed us to clinch the championship. Going into the tournament, it's like everyone is starting over and it is anyone's tournament to win."
