    Team Notes
    ALABAMA Crimson Tide

Tide earned second win over a nationally ranked team with victory against #25 MSU. The win marked UA's 28th over the Lady Bulldogs in the squad's last 29 meetings. Alabama matched is longest all-time win streak against rival Auburn with Sunday's victory. It was the Tide's fifth consecutive win in the series. UA Coach Rick Moody became the school's all-time winningest basketball coach (men's or women's) with 268 career victories following the Tide's win over AU. Bama's win over AU also assured the Tide of its 13th consecutive winning season.

    ARKANSAS Lady Razorbacks
Sophomore Shameka Christon broke one and tied another Arkansas record for SEC games last week with her fantastic second-half scoring outbursts. Christon led all scorers in Arkansas' win over LSU with 25 points in 28 minutes played. Scoring only two in the first half thanks to early fouls, Christon tore into the Lady Tigers for 23 points on 10-of-12 in the second half. The sophomore broke Kimberly Wilson's record for 20 points in a SEC half, and was one shy of the school record of 24 in a half held by Delmonica DeHorney, Shelly Wallance and Bettye Fiscus.

    AUBURN Tigers
Auburn head coach Joe Ciampi coached his 700th at Auburn last Thursday at LSU and then coached his 750th career game on Sunday at home against Alabama. Sophomore Le'Coe Willingham has scored in double figures in eight straight games, the last time she did not reach at least 10 points was at Kentucky on Jan. 13 when she scored nine points. Willingham has also led Auburn in scoring and rebounding in four of the last five games, including both games this week with 14pts/9rebs at LSU and 15pts/7rebs against Alabama.

    FLORIDA Lady Gators
Florida captured the 73-64 victory back on Jan. 27 in Gainesville. Florida defeated Ole Miss 74-73 on Sunday, Feb. 10th in the only game the Lady Gators played last week. In the victory, senior Brandi McCain scored all of her game-high 21 points in the second half as she guided UF to the road win. Also in that win, McCain played in her 100th career game wearing the Orange & Blue. Sophomore Vanessa Hayden logged her 100th blocked shot of the season. She is four shy of tying Quientella Bonner's all-time season record of 104 set in 1981. With one block against the Lady Rebels, Hayden extended her consecutive games streak to 40 games with at least one swat.

    GEORGIA Lady Bulldogs
The Lady Dogs lost a pair of heart-breaking defeats to top-10 teams last week. Georgia fell to No. 9 South Carolina, 64-59, in Columbia on Thursday and then lost to No. 3 Tennessee, 52-50, on Sunday. Turnovers doomed the Lady Dogs in each setback. Georgia committed 26 turnovers at South Carolina and 28 against Tennessee. Tawana McDonald enters Sunday's game against Florida one blocked shot shy of equaling Katrina McClain's Lady Bulldog career record of 290. McDonald and Camille Murphy, the only seniors on this year's roster, will be honored prior to tipoff on Sunday -- Georgia's final regular-season weekend home game.

    KENTUCKY Lady Wildcats
Kentucky freshman Sara Potts scored a career-high 21 points while All-SEC candidate SeSe Helm led the team with 24 points in the near-upset of No. 9 South Carolina on Sunday. The Cats shot a season-high 54.7 percent from the field but were outrebounded for the fourth straight game. UK also fell to Ole Miss on Thursday, 76-66, led by Helm and senior LaTonya McDole's 20 points each. Three of UK's next four opponents are ranked in the Top 15 as the Cats travel to No. 14 Florida, play host to No. 6 Vanderbilt and travel to No. 3 Tennessee in the remaining conference schedule.

    LSU Lady Tigers
The Lady Tigers battled back from 11 down in the second half, but could not hold on to the lead as the Arkansas Lady'Backs went on to defeat LSU, 80-71, on the road in Bud Walton Arena on Sunday afternoon. The Lady Tigers fall to 13-8 overall and 6-4 in the SEC. Junior Aiysha Smith led four Lady Tigers in double-figures scoring with 19 points, 14 of which she scored in the first half. Doneeka Hodges added 14 points, Scholanda Dorrell had 11 points off the bench and Ke-Ke Tardy had 10 points.

    OLE MISS Lady Rebels
Senior Von Kirk scored a career-high 24 points in Ole Miss' win over Kentucky. Kirk made 5-of-7 three-point shots and 9-of-9 from the free throw line. The 5-10 Huntsville, Ala., native also scored 16 points in the Lady Rebels' loss to Florida on Sunday. Kirk had three three-pointers versus UF. Over the last seven games, Kirk has made 20-of-37 three-point baskets, good for 54.1 percent. She has also made 27-of-31 free throws, good for 87.1 percent. Ole Miss dropped a 74-73 decision to Florida on Sunday. The Lady Rebels have lost to the Lady Gators twice this season by a combined total of three points. Ole Miss dropped a 75-73 decision in Gainesville.

    MISSISSIPPI STATE Lady Bulldogs
Despite losing both games last week, Mississippi State's 7-4 SEC record is still a school-best through 11 games. Jessica Carter's seven three-pointers at Vanderbilt was a career-high for the sophomore. Sophomore Lyndi Sippel made her first career start at Alabama in place of lone senior Jennifer Fambrough, who is possibly out until the post season with a bulging disk. Fambrough had started 113 consecutive games since donning the Maroon and White four years ago. Sippel hit all 15 of her points vs. the Crimson Tide in the first half.

    SOUTH CAROLINA Lady Gamecocks
The University of South Carolina women's basketball team captured its first 20-win season in 11 years Sunday with a 74-73 victory at Kentucky. Ninth-ranked South Carolina also extended its school-record of SEC victories in a season with the eighth conference win against only two losses. Four players scored in double figures as Jocelyn Penn led USC with 21 points. On Thursday night, South Carolina defeated Georgia, 64-59, to sweep the season series. Four Gamecock players scored in double figures with Gortman leading the way with 19 points.

    TENNESSEE Lady Volunteers
The win over #22/21 Georgia marks the first of four consecutive games versus ranked teams in the next seven days. The Lady Vols have completed yet another 20-win season. When Tennessee defeated #22/21 Georgia, it marked the 26th consecutive time a Lady Vol team reached at least 20 wins in a season under Coach Pat Summitt. The victory over Georgia was Lady Vol coach Pat Summitt's 779th of her 28-year career. The only woman Summitt trails behind is Jody Conradt of the University of Texas - UT's foe on Tues., Feb. 12. Conradt is 15-7 on the year and has 781 victories in 33 seasons.

    VANDERBILT Commodores
Three Commodores scored 19 points in VU's win over #25 Mississippi State - Zuzi Klimesova, Chantelle Anderson and Ashley McElhiney. Klimesova and Anderson each totaled a game-high nine rebounds with McElhiney dishing out a game-high six assists with just one turnover in 38 minutes of play at the point. The Commodore defense has held 11 of its last 12 opponents to 62 points or less, including a season-low 53 points by Mississippi State. The Commodores held two of the SEC's top three scorers (Thomas, White) to 25 points combined. Head Coach Jim Foster is three victories shy of 250 at Vanderbilt. Overall, Foster is five shy of 500.

SEC IN 20TH SEASON OF CONFERENCE PLAY
This marks the 20th season of conference play in the SEC. Women's basketball first came under the auspices of the Southeastern Conference for the 1982-83 season. Games played between SEC teams before that time are not counted in the all-time SEC standings, since there was no uniform number of conference games played each season prior to that time.

Since that time, five teams have won the SEC Championship. Tennessee leads with nine titles, while Georgia is close behind with seven. Auburn has won four titles, with Ole Miss and Kentucky each winning one.
