CSS, ESPN Agree to LIVE Broadcast of SEC Games
Posted: May 21, 2009 | Last updated: August 28, 2009 at 06:19 PM
Atlanta
- Comcast / Charter Sports Southeast (CSS), the regional sports channel focusing on college sports in the
southeast, announced today it has reached a five-year agreement with ESPN to televise live Southeastern Conference
(SEC) content including a minimum of six football games, twenty men's basketball games, and sixteen women's
basketball games as well as fifty SEC Olympic sports each year.
The agreement will begin with the 2009-10 academic year. Events and times will be announced as determined.
"Comcast works hard to offer our customers a channel line-up full of high quality programming," said John Ridall,
president of the Comcast Southern Division. "With the addition of more live SEC events to CSS, our own regional sports
channel here in the South, we are improving our sports product across the Southeast and offering our customers
programming relevant to their lives and their interests. We are very excited about this improvement."
ESPN secured the rights of the Southeastern Conference content as part of a fifteen-year agreement with the conference
reached in August 2008.

than 200 men's and women's live college basketball games and 50 live baseball games, as well as a comprehensive mix
of sports news and in-depth sports analysis geared toward fans in the Southeast.
