    WEEK 6 NOTES

  • Six SEC teams are ranked in the top 25 of this week's Associated Press, USA Today and Harris Interactive Polls. The six is tied with the Big 12 for the most by a conference in the polls. Team rankings in order (AP, USA-T and HI) are: Alabama (2/4/3), LSU (3/2/2), Georgia (11/10/10), Florida (12/13/11), Auburn (13/14/13) and Vanderbilt (19/19/19).

  • With Ole Miss receiving poll votes this week, all 12 SEC teams have now received poll points in the AP and USA Today polls in at least one week's polls this year.

  • The SEC continues to have the nation's top non-conference winning percentage in 2008 (26-5, 83.9 percent). The second highest percentage belongs to the Big 12 at 38-10 (79.2 percent).

  • After five weeks, there have been 20 sellouts in 33 home dates in the SEC. Cumulative, there have been 2,564,184 fans attend SEC games this season, an average of 77,703 per game and a 98.68 capacity percentage. In games of Week 5, a total of 512,030 fans attended six SEC home games, which was 100.6 percent of capacity for the cumulative capacity of the stadiums (509,001).

  • The Florida-Ole Miss series is now the most competitive (by scoring margin) in games played since 2000 (min. of 4 games played). The Gators and Rebels have played four times since 2000, with an average margin of 3.25 points per game. The most competitive series in which teams have played every year belongs to Tennessee-South Carolina. In eight meetings, the average margin has been 5.75 points.

  • Since 2003, Alabama and Vanderbilt have accumulated the most losses by a touchdown or less (18 each). South Carolina and Ole Miss have 16 each.

  • LSU's Colt David is now second on the SEC career PAT made list with 169. He needs 19 to tie Tennessee's Jeff Hall (188) for the SEC lead.

  • Only four teams have scored touchdowns in the games' opening series this season. Alabama has done it three times, Florida, Georgia and LSU have done it twice each. SEC teams are 31-4 when scoring first this season.

  • The average SEC game time this season is 3:11, down 12 minutes from last year.

  • SEC defenses are giving up 17.2 points and 281.5 yards per game this season, on average. Since expansion in 1992, those are the lowest totals by the SEC.

  • In the SEC this season, there have been 62 scoring drives of two minutes or less while there have been 32 that have been five minutes or longer.

  • SEC teams have stopped opposing offenses 3-downs-and-out on 36.72 percent of drives (246 of 670). Kentucky leads the SEC with a 52.63 percent clip (30 of 57).

  • SEC road teams this season are 8-3 in conference games. In 2007, SEC teams were 23-26 in road games last season.

  • SEC teams have scored 23 non-offensive touchdowns this season. Only Mississippi State and South Carolina have not scored a non-offensive TD this season.

  • In 11 conference games this season, eight have been decided by 10 points or less (72.7 percent of games). The average winning margin of the 11 games is 9.91 points per game
