Regions Acquires Naming Rights For Home of SEC Baseball Tournament

BIRMINGHAM, AL – The Birmingham Barons, one of the oldest and most celebrated franchises in Minor League Baseball, and Regions Financial Corporation, Birmingham's largest bank, are proud to announce that they have entered into a historic naming rights partnership to rename the home of the Barons. The name of Hoover Metropolitan Stadium will be changed to Regions Park, effective immediately.

"We are excited to enter into a new level of partnership with Regions, a company that has a longstanding tradition of sports sponsorship and community involvement in Alabama," says Barons owner Don Logan. "We take pride in offering our fans some of the lowest prices in professional baseball. Our corporate partners allow us to provide the affordable family entertainment that our fans expect and deserve."

The nine-season agreement will last through the 2015 calendar year, and includes a myriad of stadium sponsorship and other opportunities for Regions. Regions is a Birmingham-based financial services powerhouse ranking as one of the top 10 banks in the nation.

"We're excited that such a prominent venue in our community will bear the Regions name," says Regions North Central Alabama Area Executive Sam Tortorici. "At Regions, it is our mission to help you get more out of life, so we feel supporting such a family entertainment complex is in line with our mission and core values."

The Birmingham Barons, Regions, Hoover Parks and Recreation Board, and the City of Hoover will partner to continue to make Regions Park the most used and versatile sports facility in Alabama. The stadium is currently nearing completion of a two-phase renovation. The upgrades to the 20-year old facility include adding a second-tier to both the baseball and football press boxes, replacing over 3,000 box seats, extensive changes to the façade and main entrance of the stadium, renovated restrooms and a new stadium lighting system.

"The City of Hoover is grateful to Regions for their corporate support in our community. Regions has a large facility located in the city and provides many jobs to citizens of the community," said Mayor Tony Petelos. "We are happy about this commitment and look forward to a long and continued relationship with Regions Bank."

Regions Park will open for the 2007 season on Thursday, March 29, when the Barons take on the Chicago White Sox in an exhibition game at 6:05 p.m. For ticket information, contact the Barons' ticket office at 205-988-3200, or visit www.barons.com.
