WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN VANDERBILT HAS THE BALL Through eight games, Earl Bennett leads the SEC with 54 receptions and ranks third with 639 receiving yards. He is also among the SEC Top 10 with four touchdown catches. Bennett is trying to lead the SEC in receiving for the third consecutive year. As a freshman and sophomore, he became the only player in league history to post two seasons of at least 75 receptions. Bennett broke the Southeastern Conference record for career receptions three plays into the Miami (Ohio) game.
Brandon Spikes and Dustin Doe rank as Florida's leading tacklers with 74 and 59, respectively. Over the last nine games, Derrick Harvey has totaled nine and a half sacks. Harvey did not get his first sack of the 2006 season until the fourth game. He ended last year with a team-leading 11. Against Georgia, Wondy-Pierre Louis made the first interception of his career. He was the sixth different Gator to have an interception this season.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN FLORIDA HAS THE BALL Jonathan Goff posted a Goff-like performance vs. Miami (Ohio) – 11 total tackles, two tackles for loss, a QB sack and one QB hurry. He ranks among the SEC leaders in tackles. Marcus Buggs leads the 'Dores with 8.5 tackles for loss and shares the team lead with three QB sacks. D.J. Moore ranks among SEC leaders in numerous categories, including interceptions, solo tackles, defensed passes and kickoff return yardage.
Tim Tebow's passer rating of 176.5 is the highest in the nation. He has completed 65.8 percent of his passes, which is the 16th-highest mark in the country and is the best in the SEC. During the Georgia game, Tim Tebow scored his 12th rushing touchdown of the year to build on the single-season record for a quarterback. Percy Harvin is first on the team with 933 all-purpose yards and is averaging 116.6 yards per game. He has a team-leading 36 catches for 604 yards.
SPECIAL TEAMS Bryant Hahnfeldt ranks third all-time among Commodore placekickers in with 173 career points. He kicked his 30th career field goal and three extra points in Vanderbilt's win over Miami. Hahnfeldt has converted 10 of 14 field goals this season. For his career, Hahnfeldt has converted on 62.5% of his field goal attempts (30/48) and 80 of 83 PATs.
Brandon James had his fifth return of 50-plus yards on the year with a 52-yard kick return against Georgia. Throughout the first eight games, Chas Henry has punted 25 times for an average of 38.8 yards. He has placed eight inside the 20-yard line this eason. Joey Ijjas is 40-of-40 on extra points through the first seven outings and is seven-of-nine on field goals.
SERIES/GAME NOTES Record: UF, 29-9-2 • Last: UF, 25-19 (2006 at Nashville) Florida has captured the last 16 games played between the schools, dating back to a 24-9 Vanderbilt victory in 1988...The Commodores have struggled in Gainesville, going just 1-17-1 all-time on the Florida campus... WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN TROY HAS THE BALL Senior receiver Gary Banks enters play having recorded at least one reception in 27 consecutive games, which is the 14th longest such streak in the nation. Senior quarterback Omar Haugabook surpassed the 3,000-yard mark for career passing in the OSU game and the 4,000-yard mark in the FIU game. He has now completed 440-of-722 attempts for 4,482 yards and 33 touchdowns in his career.
Dannell Ellerbe, who leads the team with 60 tackles, had a career high 12 in the loss to Tennessee. He has been the leading tackler for the Bulldogs in fi ve games this year and is the only Bulldog linebacker to start every game. Reshad Jones set a career high against Tennessee with seven tackles and matched that total during the Bulldogs' 42-30 win over No. 9 Florida. Currently, he ranks second on the team with 43 tackles.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN GEORGIA HAS THE BALL Sherrod Martin was named Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against North Texas. Martin had 11 tackles in the game, including two sacks and three total tackles for loss. He also was credited with two forced fumbles. Boris Lee earned honors for his efforts against Louisi-ana-Monroe on Sept. 29. In that game Lee had 12 total tackles and an interception he returned 28 yards for a touchdown.
Redshirt freshman running back Knowshon Moreno aims to become the fi rst Bulldog with three straight 100-yard games since Musa Smith in 2002. In the past two games, Moreno has established career highs in yards and carries. Against ninth-ranked Florida, Moreno rushed for 188 yards on 33 carries. Through eight games and just two starts, Moreno leads the Bulldogs with 807 rushing yards.
SPECIAL TEAMS Senior kicker Greg Whibbs' 45-yard field goal in the fourth quarter last week was his longest of the season. He was also good from 40 yards earlier in the game and averaged 45.2 yards on fi ve punts. Leodis McKelvin earned his third Sun Belt Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts against North Texas on October 20. His seventh career POW award came after he returned five punts for 103 yards, including one for 52 yards and a touchdown, and two kickoffs for 59 yards.
For his career, Brandon Coutu is 45-for-58 in FGs including 5- for-11 from 50+ yards. Also, he is a perfect 94-for-94 in PATs. This season, Coutu is 10-15 in FG attempts (two of those attempts were from more than 50 yards). Georgia ranks second in the SEC in net punting at 38.1 yards. Redshirt sophomore Brian Mimbs is third in the SEC with an average of 43.3 yards on 36 punts, placing 13 inside the 20-yard line.
SERIES/GAME NOTES Record: First Meeting Fresh off a 42-30 triumph over ninth-ranked Florida, the Bulldogs (6-2) return home fortheir first-ever meeting against the Troy Trojans (6-2)... Saturday's game will be Homecoming, and the Bulldogs will be happy to be back in Sanford Stadium for the fi rst time since Sept. 29... Georgia spent the month of October on the road.. The Bulldogs start a three-game stretch at home with the Trojans followed by SEC clashes against Auburn (Nov. 10) and Kentucky (Nov. 17)... Since 1922, Georgia is 66-17-2 in Homecoming matchups... The Bulldogs fell to Vanderbilt 24-22 last year that ended an 11-year winning streak in Homecoming tilts.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN NW STATE HAS THE BALL The Demon offense is averaging 19.6 points and 328.9 yards per game and is led by sophomore quarterback Germayn Edmond, who has completed 63-of-129 passes for 793 yards with seven TDs and eight interceptions. Edmond has also run for six TDs and ranks second on the team in rushing with 323 yards. Junior RB Byron Lawrence has rushed for a team-high 917 yards and three TDs, while junior WR Dudley Guice is the top receiver with 22 catches for 300 yards and three scores.
Ashlee Palmer is third in the SEC in tackles (8.9 per game) and turned in a 15-stop performance against Louisiana Tech. Palmer has posted 12 or more tackles in three games, and he leads the team with six pass break-ups. He has recorded at least eight tackles in all but two games this year. Junior DL Peria Jerry has been a force of late, totaling 8.5 TFLs and 24 total tackles in the last five games and a sack in three straight. Jerry is now tied for sixth in the SEC in TFLs with 11.0.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN OLE MISS HAS THE BALL The Northwestern State defense is surrendering 36.9 points and 381.9 yards per outing. Junior LB Mack Dampier has posted 69 tackles and 7.5 TFLs, while sophomore LB Blake Delcambre has 64 stops and five for loss. In the secondary, junior S Justin Perry has notched five pass break-ups, and sophomore CB Kasey Brown has four break-ups and three interceptions.
Despite a pair of tough games, senior Seth Adams remains among the SEC's top quarterbacks, ranking fifth in passing average (201.0 ypg) and sixth in total offense (197.9 ypg). Senior RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis rushed for 62 yards on 13 carries at Auburn. Green-Ellis ranks fourth in the SEC rushing at 94.1 yards per game. He boasts three 100-yard performances, giving him seven in his career. Junior WR Mike Wallace has hauled in 10 passes of 30 or more yards and three of 50-plus this year. Wallace tops the SEC in yards per catch (19.8) and is third in yards per game (77.0).
SPECIAL TEAMS Junior K Robert Weeks has connected on 4-of-6 field goals and 13-of-14 PATs. He set school records in 2006 in most FGs made in a game (4 at Kansas, Sept. 2); most FGs made in a season (18); most FGs attempted in a season (24); and most points in a season by kicking (69).
Sophomore K Joshua Shene booted a 51-yard FG in the final seconds of the first half at Auburn, which was one yard short of his career long. Sophomore WR Dexter McCluster handled punt return duties for the first time this year with two returns for nine yards. McCluster got involved in kickoff returns the previous weeks against Arkansas and has three for 64 yards over the last two games.
SERIES/GAME NOTES Record: UM, 1-0 • Last: UM, 27-7 (2006 at Oxford) This marks the second meeting between the Rebels and the Demons. Ole Miss claimed a 27-7 victory last year in Oxford...Ole Miss head coach Ed Orgeron will be coaching against his alma mater in this game ... The Demons, a Division 1 FCS team, are playing their second Division 1 FBS team of the season ... Three former Rebels (Tim Henderson (OL), Rogers Loche (LB) and Gary Riggs (DB)) will be suiting up for Northwestern State...Ole Miss is 38-10 versus non-conference opponents dating back to a 38-0 win over Tulane on Nov. 12, 1994 ... WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN TENN. TECH HAS THE BALL Senior Derek White averages 116.8 yards per game, and with 1,051 yards this season, is the first Golden Eagle with more than 1,000 yards rushing since 1995. Senior Larry Shipp has caught at least one pass in all 41 games during his career, and needs 55 yards to break the school's all-time receiving record. Shipp caught seven balls for 191 yards and two scores against Samford
Antonio Coleman took over a starting spot at defensive end after senior Quentin Groves was injured Sept. 29 at Florida, but the sophomore has played like a starter all season long. Coleman leads the team and is tied for 17th nationally in tackles for loss with 12.5, and also leads the Tigers in sacks (six). His 12.5 tackles for loss are already more than anyone on the squad had last season. Patrick Lee has been on an interception binge lately, picking off four passes in the last five games.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN AUBURN HAS THE BALL Each week it seems that somebody new steps up to lead the Golden Eagle defense. Against Tennessee State it was junior linebacker Corey Reed with 15 total tackles and four tackles-forloss. Senior Maurice Smith leads the team and ranks second in the OVC with 87 tackles this season. He had 12 last week and 11 against Austin Peay and has had double fi gures in tackles in six of Tech's games.
Junior wide receiver Rodgeriqus Smith leads Auburn with 41 catches for 564 yards and five touchdowns. All three of those totals surpass what he accumulated during his first two seasons combined. Smith had his second 100-yard receiving game last Saturday against Ole Miss, catching eight balls for 111 yards and a score. He had a career-high nine catches for 102 yards Sept. 29 at Florida. In the last six weeks, Brandon Cox has completed 91-of-139 (.655) passes for 1,016 yards, five scores and just one interception, for a quarterback rating of 137.30.
SPECIAL TEAMS Shipp had 301 all-purpose yards in the thr 59-52 loss to Samford, the second-best all-purpose game in school history. His total included two kickoff returns for 110 total yards, as he returned one kick for 88 yards for his school-record third kickoff for a touchdown this season. The three kickoff returns for a touchdown this season is most in the nation.
True freshman Wes Byrum has made 13 field goals in 17 attempts, including game winners from 43 yards on the final play at No. 4 Florida Sept. 29 and 20 yards with 21 seconds at Arkansas Oct. 13. Redshirt freshman Ryan Shoemaker is second in the SEC in punting, averaging 43.6 yards per punt, while true freshman Patrick Tatum has averaged 42.2 yards per punt with eight of his 15 punts downed inside the 20-yard line.
SERIES/GAME NOTES Record: First Meeting Auburn celebrates its Homecoming Saturday by taking a break from the SEC schedule to host its last nonconference game of the season against Tennessee Tech... Auburn will be looking for its fourth straight home victory, while the Golden Eagles, a member of the Football Championship Subdivision, will be out to snap a four-game losing streak...Auburn has won its last 15 Homecoming games, and is 67-8-5 all-time on Homecoming weekend...Auburn is the only Football Bowl Subdivision team to lead at the half in every game it has played this season.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN LAFAYETTE HAS THE BALL Michael Desormeaux is averaging 110.4 rushing yards per game this season,which ranks 25th in the NCAA. In 12 career starts at quarterback,he has 1,234 yards on 199 carries (6.2 yards per carry/102.8 yards per game). Tyrell Fenroy is the first player in school history to post two 1,000-yard rushing seasons. On the year,Fenroy has 540 yards on 95 carries (5.7 yards per carry/67.5 yards per game). Derrick Smith leads the team with 35 receptions for 583 yards (16.7 yards per catch).
Eric Berry has started all eight games this season and is currently fifth on the team with 45 tackles after setting a career-high last weekend against South Carolina with 12. Dan Williams posted three TFLs for 11 yards vs.South Carolina. Three linebackers made at least 10 tackles vs.South Carolina,led by Rico McCoy with 14. Ryan Karl and Jerod Mayo had 12 and 11 stops,respectively,vs.South Carolina. McCoy leads the team with 64 tackles this season. Mayo is second with 62.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN TENNESSEE HAS THE BALL Brent Burkhalter or Antwyne Zanders have led the team in tackles in every game with the only exception coming at UCF. Jarrett Jones recovered a blocked kick against Florida Atlantic and returned it for 53 yards for a touchdown. Daylon McCoy had four tackles,one TFL and his first career interception in the Troy game.McCoy scored on a 40-yard fumble return at ASU.
Erik Ainge is 22-9 as a starter in his career. He has an efficiency rating of 133.4,which is the third-best mark in the SEC this season. Ainge is third in Tennessee history in career pass- ing yards with 7,191 and third in total offense with 6,977 yards. Arian Foster has 403 yards rushing and six touchdowns in his last four games,but gained just 75 yards vs.South Carolina. Lucas Taylor leads the team with 47 catches for 690 yards,including 4 grabs for 57 yards vs. South Carolina.
SPECIAL TEAMS Drew Edmiston is 8-for-10 this season in field goal attempts with a long of 40 yards. His only misses have come from 44 yards against McNeese State and 41 yards at UCF. Derrick Smith leads the team with 16 kickoff returns for 364 yards –a 22.8-yard average – ranking him 86th in the nation.
Daniel Lincoln is 15-of-17 on field goal attempts and 29-of-29 on PATs through eight games. Lincoln kicked his career-long 48-yard field goal vs.South Carolina to force overtime and earn SEC Special Teams POW honors ...LaMarcus Coker is fourth in the SEC in kickoff return average (26.5).
SERIES/GAME NOTES Record: UT, 1-0 • Last: UT, 38-3 (1992 at Knoxville) Tennessee's lone previous meeting with Louisiana-Lafayette came on Sept. 5, 1992, with the Volunteers posting a 38-3 season-opening victory in Knoxville (ULL was then known as Southwestern Louisiana)... That game holds a degree of significance in the fact that it was the first head coaching win credited to Phillip Fulmer.Fulmer, now in his 16th season at the Big Orange reins, boasts a 4-0 career record against current members of the Sun Belt Conference, including a 48-27 win over Arkansas State earlier this season... Fulmer is 7-3 all-time against teams from the state of Louisiana...In the 14 Homecoming games that Phillip Fulmer has coached, Tennessee is 13-1 with an average margin of victory of 24.2 points... The only Homecoming loss in the Fulmer era came at the hands of Miami (Fla.), 26-3, in 2002.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN LSU HAS THE BALL QB Matt Flynn brings a 7-1 overall mark as a starter into the contest. In seven games this year, Flynn has thrown for 1,266 yards and 8 TDs and he's rushed for another 138 yards and a score. RB Jacob Hester leads the Tigers with 544 yards and 5 scores, while Brandon LaFell (30 rec., 412 yards, 1 TD) and Early Doucet (22 rec., 246 yards, 2 TDs) are LSU's top receivers.
Wallace Gilberry is the Tide's third-leading tackler this season with 45 stops, including 19 in his last three games. He also leads UA with four sacks, 10 quar-terback pressures and 12 tackles for loss. Rolando McClain is second on the team with 47 tackles. He has added 4.5 TFLs, two pass breakups and one sack. Simeon Castille leads the team with seven pass breakups.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN ALABAMA HAS THE BALL S Craig Steltz leads the team with 59 tackles, while DT Glenn Dorsey 39 tackles, 6.5 TFL and 4 sacks. In seven games this year, Highsmith ranks sec-ond on the squad in tackles with 56 tackles, which includes 6.0 tackles for losses and a 1.5 sacks. Highsmith is first on the team in pass breakups with six and he's also recorded a team-best six quarterback hurries to go with a forced fumble.
John Parker Wilson is 12-9 (.571) as the starting quarterback. In 26 career games, Wilson has completed 396 of 689 (.575) passes for 4,681 yards, with 30 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. In eight games this season, D.J. Hall leads the team with 50 catches for 764 yards and five touchdowns. He also leads UA with 15.3 yards per catch. Terry Grant has 127 rushing attempts for 697 yards and seven touch-downs. He also averages 5.5 yards per carry.
SPECIAL TEAMS LSU PK Colt David became the school's all-time leader in PATs against Auburn as he ran his career total to 131. David has also moved up to sixth in LSU history in career scoring with 215 points. This year, David has converted 14 field goals, which ranks as the fourth-highest single-season total in school history. David has 26 career field goals, which ranks seventh in LSU history.
Javier Arenas has four returns (3 punts and 1 kick-off) or more than 50 yards this season. Arenas is second in the SEC and 11th nationally with a 16.1 yard punt return average this season. Leigh Tiffin is 15-of-22 on field goal attempts this season and has been successful on seven of his last nine attempts.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN SOUTH CAROLINA HAS THE BALL Running back Cory Boyd netted a career-high 160 yards rushing on 20 carries at Tennessee on Saturday, the fifth 100-yard game of his career. Quarterback Blake Mitchell came off the bench to complete 31-of-45 passes for 290 yards and a touchdown. Wide receiver Kenny McKinley tied a school record set by Zola Davis against Vanderbilt in 1998 by catching 14 passes for 151 yards.
Michael Grant is having an outstanding senior season at cornerback for the Razorbacks. He is second in the NCAA with 1.75 passes defended per game. The mark also leads the SEC outright. Jerrell Norton has five inter-ceptions and nine pass breakups this season. The sophomore ranks tied for fifth nationally in interceptions and is tied for fourth in passes defended (1.63). Weston Dacus is the Hogs' leading returning tackler and is sec-ond on the tackles chart as a senior with 69 stops in eight games.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN ARKANSAS HAS THE BALL Sophomore defensive end Eric Norwood has performed at an all-league level for the Gamecocks along the defensive line. A Freshman All-American last season, Norwood is second on the squad with 51 tackles this season, including 14.0 tackles for loss, second in the SEC. He has 5.0 sacks this season, which places him seventh in the league, and 12.0 sacks in his career in the Garnet & Black. He also has been credited with a team-high six quarterback hurries and three pass break ups.
Darren McFadden ranks 11th nationally in rushing with 124.13 yards per game. That mark also leads the conference. He is averaging 153.38 all-purpose yards per game, which ranks 26th nationally and second in the SEC. McFadden needs seven yards to become the second player in the SEC to rush for1,000 yards as a freshman, sophomore and junior. Felix Jones ranks 30th nationally and second in the SEC in rushing with 107.88 yards per contest. He has 863 yards rushing on the season with 10 touchdowns.
SPECIAL TEAMS Ryan Succop is 10-for-14 in fi eld goal attempts this season. Three of his four misses have come from at least 47 yards out (47, 48 and 50). He was the SEC Special Teams Player of the Week against Georgia after drilling all three of his fi eld goal attempts in the 16-12 win. He is 26-for-36 in fi eld goal attempts in his career. He has converted 19 of his last 23 attempts from inside 47.
Jones has two kickoff returns for touchdowns this season on 90-yard and 82-yard bursts. He ranks sixth nationally in kickoff return average at 31.58 ypr. He currently leads the SEC in career kickoff return average at 28.4 yards per on 52 career returns. Alex Tejada is 14 for 17 on field goal attempts and 38 of 40 on PATs.
