Mississippi State's Richie Brown has been named the Walter Camp Defensive Player of the Week, presented by Generation UCAN.
This is the 11th year that the Walter Camp Football Foundation will honor one offensive and one defensive player as its national Football Bowl Subdivision player of the week during the regular season. Recipients are selected by a panel of national media members and administered by the Foundation.
Brown tied a school record with three interceptions as 12th-ranked Mississippi State defeated 6th-ranked Texas A&M, 48-31. Brown added three tackles as the Bulldogs improved to 5-0, 2-0 in the SEC.
Brown is the second Mississippi State player since 2004 to earn Walter Camp Player of the Week honors, joining former Bulldog linebacker Quinton Culberson (Nov. 5, 2006).
