STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Sherise Williams scored 15 points to lead No. 25 Mississippi State to an 80-46 win over Louisiana-Monroe on Tuesday night.
Mississippi State's defense held Louisiana-Monroe to 2-of-18 shooting in the first half as Bulldogs marched out to a 48-13 lead at the break.
The defense also forced 32 turnovers and held Louisiana-Monroe to 34.2 percent shooting from the field for the game.
Blair Schaefer had 11 points, six rebounds and four assists for Mississippi State (5-0). Ketara Chapel added 10 points and six rebounds as the Bulldogs held a 44-31 advantage on the glass.
Alayshia Hunter made both first-half field goals for Louisiana-Monroe (1-2) and finished with 12 points. Olivia Countiss added 10 for the Warhawks, who were 11 of 20 from the field in the second half.
