Ole Miss runs past Austin Peay 92-64

OXFORD, Miss. -- Jarvis Summers scored 18 points as Mississippi placed four players in double figures Saturday to defeat Austin Peay 92-63.

Stefan Moody scored 14 points, Dwight Coleby added 12 and Terence Smith had 10 for the Rebels (9-4). Ole Miss shot a season-best 55 percent (34-62) from the field, including 11 of 21 from 3-point range.

Ole Miss had a 12-0 run in the final three minutes of the first half to build a 42-29 halftime lead and was never threatened in the second half. The Rebels led by as many as 31 points on three occasions, the final time at 89-58 on a 3-point shot by LaDarius White with 2:06 left.

Khalil Davis scored 20 points for Austin Peay (5-9). Chris Freeman added 12 points and six rebounds, while Ed Dyson added 10. The Governors struggled offensively, managing only 35 percent (19-54) from the field and had 16 turnovers.

With Martavious Newby had eight rebounds off the bench as Ole Miss had a 41-30 advantage on the boards and he led the Rebels, who had 23 assists on 34 baskets, with five assists. Three other players had four assists.

Austin Peay jumped to a quick 10-4 lead as Dyson hit back-to-back treys. Shortly after that Moody hit a 3 to start a 9-0 for the Rebels. The Governors were within 28-26 with 2:40 left after four-straight free throws by Chris Horton but the Rebels took off and led 42-29 at halftime as Summers scored seven points.

Moody had two 3's in the first four minutes of the second half to push the lead to 53-33.
