2015 Women's Tennis annual awards

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The 2015 women's tennis first and second team All-SEC, All-Freshman team, and the yearly awards have been announced by the conference office.

Vanderbilt's Geoff Macdonald was named SEC Coach of the Year for the third time, his second as the head coach of the Commodores. Vanderbilt is currently 19-6 overall and ended the conference season with a 11-2 record. The team won the SEC Tournament on Sunday with a 4-3 victory over Georgia.

Florida's Brooke Austin was named Player and Freshman of the Year. Austin is the first women's tennis student-athlete to be awarded both Player and Freshman of the Year honors in the same season.

Scholar-Athlete of the Year was awarded to Alabama's Emily Zabor. Zabor graduated summa cum laude in three years, in May 2014, as a member of the University Honors Program with a BS in Commerce & Business Administration, earning a 4.000 cumulative in her undergraduate degree majoring in Marketing. She has been a mainstay on the President's List & Dean's List throughout her undergraduate career and is currently enrolled in the Master's degree program in Marketing where she owns a 4.00 cumulative GPA. The Marietta, Georgia native has twice been named the NCAA Elite 89 Award winner - the first repeat winner in women's tennis.
