BATON ROUGE, La - No. 6 Georgia beat No. 11 Ole Miss in a 11-0 run-rule win, advancing to the second round of the 2015 SEC Softball Tournament. The Bulldogs took an early 3-0 lead in the second inning after Anna Swafford scored from second base off a Kaylee Puailoa single. Two pitches later, Katie Browne brought Puailoa home with her first home run of the season.

"I'm so proud of [Browne]," Georgia head coach Lu Harris-Champer said. "She's been working really hard. We watched her do the same thing in practice yesterday."

Georgia pitcher Chelsea Wilkinson has overcome her mid-season struggles, settling in for the post-season. She led the Bulldog defense with a solid 89-pitch performance, only allowing two hits and striking out four Rebel batters.

Champer says Wilkinson's pitching is critical to Georgia's success if they intend to make a run deep in the tournament.

"She just needs to keep focusing on what she does, on her count, and be unpredictable in what she's throwing," said Harris-Champer.

This was Ole Miss' first appearance in the SEC Softball tournament in seven years. Madi Osias led the Rebels from the circle, allowing six runs on five hits in two innings of play.

"It's been a tremendous change just to see the different level we've been able to achieve after four years in this program," Brown said. "Coach Smith has brought such a great atmosphere to our program and really changed the dynamic of this team. We never quit and always keep fighting. That's been the philosophy all year. I'm so thankful for this coaching staff to bring this program to where it is this year."

Georgia faces No. 3 Alabama tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. CT / 1:30 p.m ET. Watch the game live with in-game statistics at secnetwork.com.
