FORT WORTH, Texas - The Texas A&M Aggies dropped a 13-4 decision to the TCU Horned Frogs in NCAA Championship Super Regional action Saturday afternoon at Lupton Stadium.

TCU jumped out to the early lead in the bottom of the first. With one out, Jeremie Fagnan doubled to the right-center gap and moved to third when Jonathan Moroney was unable to field the ball cleanly. Connor Wanhanen followed with a single through the right side to plate Fagnan. Evan Skoug laced a single down the leftfield line to put runners on the corners and Derek Odell followed with a single to leftfield, driving in Wanhanen for the 2-0 lead.

The Aggies responded with a run in the top of the second inning. Nick Banks and Hunter Melton both singled to start the frame. TCU turned a 5-3 double play on a grounder to third by Logan Nottebrok, putting Melton on second base with two outs. Jonathan Moroney punched a 1-1 offering into rightfield, driving in Melton with A&M's first run.

The Horned Frogs put up two more runs in the bottom of the second. With one out, Dane Steinhagen poked a single to rightfield and Cody Jones followed by threading a single through the right side of the infield to put runners on the corners. Fagnan knocked in both runs with a wall-banger to rightfield for a double, staking TUC to a 4-1 advantage.

TCU (48-12) tacked on a run in the third. With one out, Nolan Brown looked at a full-count offering in the zone for ball four. He stole second base and moved to third when the short-hop throw got by the Aggie second baseman. Jones knocked Brown in with a sacrifice fly to inflate the Horned Frogs' cushion to 5-1.

Texas A&M (49-13) started to reel the Horned Frogs back in in the top of the fourth. Melton started the inning with a sharply struck base hit that got by the second baseman, which was scored an error. TCU turned a Nottebrok grounder into a 4-6-3 double play to apparently kill the rally. Moroney fanned the embers with a double to leftfield and came around to score when Michael Barash punched a single to leftfield. Basash moved to second on the throw home and scored when Blake Allemand stroked a gapper to right-center for a triple. A passed ball brought Allemand home, closing the Horned Frogs' lead to 5-4.

TCU added an insurance run in the fifth inning. With one out, Odell singled up the middle. After Brown swung-and-missed at strike three for the second out of the frame, Odell stole second base and came around to score when Jones flared a single to centerfield, pushing the margin to 6-4.

The Horned Frogs stretched the lead to seven runs with a five-run sixth. The frame included RBI singles by Jones, Skoug and Odell for the 11-4 advantage.

Moroney was the offensive highlight for the Aggies. He logged a career-high with four hits, going 4-for-4 with two doubles, one run and one RBI. Allemand went 3-for-5 with a triple, one run and one RBI.

Odell paced Horned Frogs with four hits and two stolen bases.

Grayson Long (9-1) suffered his first loss of the season. He allowed five runs, four earned, on seven hits and one walk while striking out two in 3.0 innings.

Trey Teakell (2-1) picked up the win in relief. He retired 12 of the 13 batters he faced in 4.0 innings, including two strikeouts.

The teams return to action Sunday with a 1:15 pm game at Lupton Stadium.
