AUBURN, Ala. -- The Auburn volleyball team capitalized on a late rally in the fourth set to take a 3-1 (25-16, 25-23, 21-25, 25-23) win over South Carolina Friday night in Auburn Arena.

Four Tigers totaled double-digit kills in the match with sophomore Courtney Crable and freshman Brenna McIlroy leading the way with 16 each. Junior Emily Klitzke finished with 13 kills, while classmate Breanna Barksdale had 10. Sophomore setter Alexa Filley had a match-high 49 assists and added five kills and seven digs.

The Auburn defense was led by sophomore libero Jesse Earl and senior Alyssa Ivey. Earl had a team-best 19 digs, while Ivey finished with 16. Sophomore Kelly Stewart had nine digs for the Tigers and McIlroy finished with eight.

Darian Dozier led the Gamecocks (10-15, 3-9) with 16 kills and had 11 blocks (3s, 8a). Elizabeth Johnbull totaled 11 kills, while libero Megan Kirkland finished with 19 digs.

Auburn (13-10, 5-6) held a lead throughout set one after jumping ahead 7-3 on a pair of kills from Klitzke. A handful of long rallies pushed the Tigers ahead 20-9 and Auburn held off a late surge by the Gamecocks to win 25-16.

Set two featured 14 ties and seven lead changes with the teams exchanging rallies throughout. Kills from Crable lifted the Tigers to a 15-14 lead and a service ace from Stewart made it 19-17. Another Crable kill gave Auburn set point, 24-22, and the home squad went on to take the set, 25-23.

South Carolina used the intermission to come out strong in set three. The Gamecocks utilized a 3-0 run to jump ahead at 12-8 and another run pushed South Carolina up 17-10. Auburn rallied late in the set and capitalized on Gamecock errors, but the visitors held for a 25-21 win.

The fourth set opened like the third with South Carolina pushing ahead to a 17-11 advantage. A kill from Crable helped turn the table and led to a 6-1 run by the Tigers to come within a point at 18-17. Auburn secured its first lead of the set at 22-21 and a kill from Crable sealed the win at 25-23.

Auburn returns to Auburn Arena Sunday for a match against No. 11 Florida. First serve is set for 1:30 p.m. and the match will be broadcast on SEC Network+.
