Auburn guts out win over LSU
AUBURN, Ala. -- Blake Logan had four RBI and Anfernee Grier scored three times as Auburn baseball defeated No. 14 LSU 8-5 on Saturday in game one of a doubleheader at Plainsman Park.
Auburn (13-13, 2-5) took a 4-0 lead in the fourth inning on a bases loaded wild pitch and a 3-run double by Logan. After LSU scored a pair in the top of the fourth, Auburn answered back with two more in the bottom half on a 2-run homer by Joshua Palacios. The homer was Palacios' fourth of the season.
Justin Camp pitched five innings and allowed two runs on four hits. He improved to 2-1 on the year.
Grier had three hits to lead the Tigers. Logan was 2-for-4.
Auburn added a run in the seventh to make it 7-2 as Logan doubled off the wall in left to pick up his fourth RBI of the day.
Gabe Klobosits pitched 1.1 scoreless innings out of the bullpen followed by Casey Mize for 2.1 innings. Izaac Yarbrough earned his first save of the season after recording the final out in the ninth.
LSU (16-9, 2-5) got three runs in the ninth including a 2-run homer by Greg Deichmann. He had two hits on the day.
Auburn tied its season high with three double plays in the game.
