BATON ROUGE -- The LSU softball team surged offensively versus Florida Atlantic, racking up eight hits and earning the victory with a final score of 6-1 in Tiger Park.
Senior Emily Griggs led the offensive attack for the Tigers, going 2-for-3 with a triple, driving in Taryn Antoine, Akiya Thymes, and Shemiah Sanchez.
Carley Hoover got her seventh win of the season, allowing only one run and striking out six in seven innings.
With the win, LSU improves to 18-2 on the season and remains undefeated in Tiger Park, while FAU falls to 11-9.
Next up, the Tigers will take on FAU at 12 p.m. CT on Sunday, Mar. 4 in Tiger Park.
LSU vs. Purdue
The LSU softball team entered the fifth inning with the game tied at two, until a three-run homerun by sophomore Amanda Doyle gave them the lead, and eventually defeating Purdue, 6-2 in Tiger Park.
With the win, the Tigers improve to 17-2 on the year while Purdue falls to 2-15.
Amanda Doyle was perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs, marking her third dinger of the season.
Allie Walljasper picked up the win, giving her a 7-1 record on the year.
