SEC tabs Evolution Media/CAA TV group as media advisors
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Southeastern Conference announced today that it has appointed leading sports media advisory firm Evolution Media and Creative Artists Agency (CAA) as its exclusive media advisors. Under its long-term agreement, Evolution and CAA's television division will work collaboratively to advise the SEC on the evolving media marketplace and assist the conference in its future broadcast rights negotiations.
"More than ever before, SEC fans have greater access to view Conference programming as a result of the SEC's existing broadcast agreements and the development of new technology," said SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey. "These realities make it increasingly important for the SEC to engage a sophisticated media advisor with expertise to assist the Conference in considering a media strategy in the years ahead.
"Evolution Media and Creative Artists Agency provide the SEC with exceptional media advisory expertise and their record of success is an indication of the many healthy relationships they maintain across all aspects of traditional and emerging media, which will help us maximize the Conference's future opportunities," Sankey said.
Evolution Media's clients have included the International Olympic Committee, WWE, the National Hockey League, Major League Soccer, PGA of America, PGA TOUR, Riot Games, Top Rank Boxing, the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Arizona Diamondbacks, and the Boston Celtics, among other leading teams and associations. Evolution has advised on more than $38 billion in media rights transactions since 2008.
Creative Artists Agency (CAA) represents many of the most successful and innovative professionals working in sports, film, television, music, video games, theatre, commercial endorsements, and digital content, and provides a range of strategic marketing and consulting services to corporate clients.
"It is a unique privilege to represent an organization as esteemed and steeped in history as the Southeastern Conference. We have a shared vision with the SEC and its member schools, and through the stellar leadership of Commissioner Sankey we will look to assist in building upon the SEC's established success," said Alan Gold, Partner and Head of Sports Media, Evolution Media, and Nick Khan, Co-Head of Television, CAA.
