BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The cross country programs of the Southeastern Conference return to action on Friday, traveling to four locations across the country to participate in the NCAA Regional Championships.
The NCAA South Regional takes place in Tallahassee, Fla., the NCAA South Central Regional is slated for College Station, Texas, the NCAA Southeast Regional will be held in Rock Hill, S.C., and the NCAA Midwest Regional will take place in Peoria, Ill.
The top two teams and the first four finishers in the race not associated with those two teams will automatically advance to the NCAA Championship race, which will be held Nov. 17 in Madison, Wis. Additionally, there will be 13 at-large team bids for each gender.
Led by the fifth-ranked Arkansas women, six SEC squads are ranked among the nation's top-30 teams according to the latest U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association National Coaches Poll entering Friday's NCAA Regionals.
The Ole Miss men and Arkansas women won the 2018 SEC Cross Country Championships, which took place Oct. 26 at Indian Pines Golf Course in Auburn, Ala. The Razorbacks' Gilbert Boit and Florida's Jessica Pascoe took home the men's and women's individual crowns, respectively.
