BIRMINGHAM, Ala. Four Southeastern Conference cross country programs earned automatic bids to NCAA Championships following NCAA Regional competition on Friday.
The Arkansas men and Arkansas women won the NCAA South Regional Championship held at Texas A&M's Watts Cross Country Course, while the Ole Miss men won the South Regional in Tallahassee, Fla., and the Florida women placed second in the South Regional meet.
A total of nine regional championship meets were held across the country on Friday. The top two teams and the first four finishers in the race not associated with those two teams automatically advance to the NCAA Championship race, which will be held Nov. 17 in Madison, Wis. Additionally, there will be 13 at-large team bids for each gender. The Ole Miss women finished third in the NCAA South Regional.
Thirty-six individuals automatically qualify to the championships races by being one of the top four regional finishers not on an advancing team. Two additional individuals are selected at-large by the committee.
