Week 2: Women's Basketball Players of the Week

Player of the Week: Mississippi State's Anriel Howard had her best week as a Bulldog, averaging a double-double as MSU hit the century mark twice and improved to 4-0 on the season. Howard started the week with her first double-double as a Bulldog, tallying 24 points and 13 rebounds in leading MSU to a win against Southland Conference preseason favorite Lamar. After State took a seven-point lead to halftime, Howard took over in the final 20 minutes, scoring 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting and grabbing six rebounds as State scored a school-record 69 second-half points. In State's record 42-point third quarter, she contributed 13 points. Howard capped the week tallying 15 points and 8 rebounds against Coppin State. She helped MSU to 64 first-half points, going 5-of-7 from the field for 11 points.

Freshman of the Week: Ole Miss' Mimi Reid totaled a triple-double on the week with 12 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists in two wins vs. Temple and Western Michigan. She has had at least four assists in each game this year. She recorded a career-high 11 rebounds vs. Western Michigan, which was first game since Jan. 1, 2017 that multiple Rebels had double-digit rebounds. She has averaged 6.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game on the season.
