The Southeastern Conference 2019 Class of Women's Legends showcases former student-athletes and coaches from all 14 SEC member institutions.
Simone Charley was a dual-sport athlete at Vanderbilt, and extremely successful in both. She holds the school record in outdoor triple jump and indoor triple jump. Her senior campaign, Charley was an NCAA First Team All-American in Indoor Track and Field and a Second Team All-SEC Selection in soccer. Also, during her senior campaign she collected All-SEC Second Team honors in indoor and was a Second Team All-Southeast Region selection by the United Soccer Coaches and named to the Fall SEC Academic Honor Roll in soccer.
But, Charley made an immediate impact for the Commodores from season number one. In soccer, Charley was selected to the 2013 SEC All-Freshman Team, named to the 2013-14 SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll, named the 2014 Preseason SEC Player to Watch, named to the 2014 SEC Academic Honor Roll, was the 2014 SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week and selected to the SEC First Team and the All-South Region Second Team. The Hoover, Alabama native had a huge season in 2015, being named TSWA Sportswriters Association Player of the Week (Nov. 11), All-SEC Second Team, All-South Region First Team and to the Fall SEC Academic Honor Roll. In 2016, she was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
In track and field, Charley was a six-time All-American, being named second team outdoor in 2014, first team for both indoor and outdoor in 2015 and 16 and a first team in indoor in 2017. In 2014, she was named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team. In 2017, Charley was named a CoSIDA Academic All-District Team member and was an All-SEC Second Team Selection.
