Twelve SEC teams earn bids to Women's Golf Regionals

INDIANAPOLIS - The NCAA Division I Women's Golf Committee has announced the teams and individuals selected to participate in the 2019 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Regionals.

Four regional tournaments will be conducted May 6-8 to determine the championships field. Regional tournaments are considered preliminary rounds of NCAA championships competition and all national championships policies apply. A total of 384 participants have been selected for regional competition. Of these players, 132 will advance to the championships finals. Six teams and three individuals will advance from each regional.

The national championships will be May 17-22 at The Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas hosted by the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.

The SEC teams and individuals selected to participate are listed below.

Auburn Regional

The Auburn Regional will showcase plenty of SEC talent, with four teams and one individual representing the conference. Auburn claims the No. 4 seed and will host the 18-team regional at Saugahatchee Country Club in Opelika, Alabama. Vanderbilt secures the No. 2 seed, while Alabama and Tennessee earn the No. 10 and 11 seeds, respectively. Senior Leonie Bettel will represent Kentucky as one of six individuals at the Auburn Regional.

Cle Elum Regional

Arkansas and South Carolina have been selected to the Cle Elum Regional, hosted by Washington. Among the 18 teams chosen, the Razorbacks hold the No. 2 seed with the Gamecocks following as the No. 3 seed. The Cle Elum Regional will be played at the Tumble Creek Club in Cle Elum, Washington.

East Lansing Regional

Two teams from the SEC were elected to the East Lansing Regional in East Lansing, Michigan. Georgia will compete as the No. 10 seed and LSU as the No. 13 seed. The 18-team regional will be played at the Forest Akers West Golf Course, hosted by Michigan State.

Norman Regional

Four other SEC squads earned bids and were selected to the Norman Regional, including the SEC Champions Ole Miss. The Rebels are placed as the No. 9 seed, with Florida as the No. 3 seed, Mississippi State as the No. 11 seed and Texas A&M as the No. 14 seed. Oklahoma serves as the host of the regional, which will be played at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman, Oklahoma.
