Alabama junior designated player Bailey Hemphill has been named the 2019 recipient of the Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year award for Division I softball and headlines the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division I Softball Teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
A human development and family studies major with a 3.99 GPA, Hemphill was a finalist for the 2019 USA Softball Collegiate National Player of the Year award. She also garnered First Team All-SEC, Second Team NFCA All-America and NFCA Second Team All-South Region accolades this season. In addition, she was a Second Team NFCA All-South Region honoree last season. Hemphill ranked second in NCAA Division I softball in RBI with 83 and third in home runs with 26 entering the Women's College World Series, which were both Alabama single-season records. She was a Google Cloud Academic All-America® Second Team selection last season.
Hemphill is one of eight SEC student-athletes named to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division I Softball Teams.
