SEC Player of the Week - Auburn center Austin Wiley, a 6-foot-11, 260-pound senior from Hoover, Ala., averaged 16 points and 10.5 rebounds in leading the Tigers to the Legends Classic title with wins over New Mexico and Richmond. Wiley shot 80 percent (12-of-15) from the field and was named Legends Classic Most Valuable Player while leading Auburn to its first tournament title since 2004. He opened the event with 14 points and 13 rebounds against New Mexico before adding 18 points and eight rebounds against Richmond in the championship. The Tigers are off to their first 7-0 start to a season since 2003-04 and the first time in program history the they have won seven games before Thanksgiving.
SEC Freshman of the Week - Georgia's Anthony Edwards, a 6-foot-5, 225-pound freshman from Atlanta, Ga., averaged 22.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, two blocks, 1.7 assists and 1.7 steals against Dayton, No. 3 Michigan St. and Chaminade at the Maui Invitational. He exploded for 37 points against Michigan State, including 33 in the second half alone. Named a member of the all-tournament team, he helped Georgia rally from a 28-point deficit to pull within two points of the Spartans with just under five minutes remaining. Edwards notched 24 points against Chaminade, including the game-winning 3-pointer with 0.6 of a second remaining.
