Player of the Week: Mississippi State's Florian Broska is a team-best 5-1 in dual match singles play at the No. 2 spot thus far in 2020. After a 3-0 start, his only setback of the spring came in a tough three-set affair at Florida State. He rebounded strong this past weekend during the ITA Kickoff Weekend, posting two consecutive Top 50 victories, including the highest ranked win of his three-year career when he ousted Georgia's 12th-ranked Phillip Henning 6-4, 6-2. He followed that with an equally impressive triumph over Oklahoma's 50th-ranked Mason Beiler, helping the Bulldogs to their 4-0 shutout of the Sooners. In doubles, Broska is 3-1 in dual match play with partner Nicolas Ocana, leading the Bulldogs at the No. 1 position.
Freshman of the Week: South Carolina's Connor Thomson has started the season off hot, not dropping a single set in any dual match thus far. Thomson played a huge part in South Carolina's 2-0 performance at ITA Kickoff weekend, going 2-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles. In the Gamecocks 4-3 comeback win against Georgia, Thomson got the ball rolling, defeating Erik Grevelius to stop UGA from going up 3-0. Only one of Thomson's sets has made it past 6-3.
