SEC Gymnast of the Week - Florida's Trinity Thomas, a sophomore from York, Pa., turned in the nation's leading total for the weekend of 39.775 to claim her fourth all-around win of the season as the Gators defeated No. 4 Denver and No. 18 Iowa State. Thomas recorded a 10.0 on balance beam, making her the only gymnast in 2020 with a perfect mark of multiple events.
SEC Co-Specialists of the Week - Arkansas' Sophia Carter, a junior from Blue Springs, Mo., earned her ninth career beam title with a 9.925 to help the Gymbacks to a season-high 49.275 in the event, en route to their win over No. 10 Georgia. The final score of 196.950 marked the 13th highest team score in program history and ninth highest at Barnhill. Carter also tied for fourth on floor (9.875) as the Razorbacks finished with a 49.400, giving Arkansas a combined score of 148+ on bars, beam and floor for the fourth time in program history
Georgia's Sabrina Vega, a senior from Carmel, N.Y., scored her fourth 9.950 of the season on floor and took home the event title at No. 15 Arkansas. Vega shared the event title on beam after scoring a 9.925. Both scores matched her season-high marks as the GymDogs tallied their highest road score of the season (196.750).
SEC Freshman of the Week - LSU's Kiya Johnson, a freshman from Dallas, Texas, won three event titles, including the all-around with a score of 39.575. Johnson earned wins in vault and bars titles at No. 22 Oregon State and vs. Arizona State on the road. She also secured a third-place finish on floor with a 9.90 and fourth place on beam with a 9.875.
