  • Sixth-place finish came after winning back-to-back individual titles at the Sea Best invitational (8-under 202) and the Gators Invitational (13-under 197)
  • Marks his third top-10 finish of the spring
  • Has been the Gators' highest finisher in all three events to open the spring
  • Has shot a collective 27 under over his last nine rounds
  • Has shot under par in all nine rounds of the spring with a scoring average of 67.78
  • Five of his nine rounds have been in the 60s
  • Helped the Gators finish fourth in a 15-team field at Southern Highlands, finishing above seven teams ranked higher than them

MEN'S FRESHMAN GOLFER OF THE WEEK

Canon Claycomb, Alabama

  • Playing in just his second collegiate tournament, Canon Claycomb collected his first top-10 finish with a seventh-place showing at the 2020 Cabo Collegiate
  • Claycomb closed the three-day 54-hole tournament with a 4-under par 209 (70-66-73), which included a second-round total of 5-under par 66 on Monday to match the best 18-hole score by any UA individual of the year
  • A native of Bowling Green, Ky., Claycomb finished the event with 15 birdies to lead Alabama and rank second-best in the field, while he also ranked second in par 3 scoring average (2.87, -2) and third in par 5 scoring average (4.33, -8)
  • Since teeing it up this spring for the Crimson Tide, Claycomb leads the team with a 70.17 scoring average while five of his six rounds have been par or better
  • He has played in six total rounds through his two collegiate tournaments and has reached par or better in five of them
