Offensive output

  • Auburn finished the 2020 season as the national leader in batting average (.330) while also ranking in the top 10 in runs (158), hits (210), doubles (51) and on-base percentage (.421).

Sitting 'em down

  • The Tigers set a program record by striking out double-digit batters in 14 straight games to start the season, surpassing a previous record of seven straight games from 1997.
  • The Auburn pitching staff finished the season sixth in the country in strikeouts (209) while also ranking third in shutouts (5).

Non-conference success

  • Auburn posted a 13-5 record entering conference play and improved to 51-15 against non-conference opponents in the regular season since 2018, including 31-6 on the weekend.

In the polls

  • Auburn finished the 2020 season ranked as high as No. 13 in the national polls.
  • It marks the second time in program history the Tigers have finished four straight seasons ranked in the top 25
  • 1997 (No. 5), 1998 (No. 9), 1999 (No. 11), 2000 (No. 20)

Captain America

  • Junior pitcher Tanner Burns was named a Collegiate Baseball Second Team All-American following the season.
  • Burns joins former Auburn hurlers Gregg Olson (1986-88) and Casey Mize (2016-18) as the only other two-time All-Americans in program history.
  • Burns is the program's first two-time All-American to have also been named a Freshman All-American.

Bull in the pen

  • Junior reliever Cody Greenhill recorded his 19th career save in the series opener against Wright State on Feb. 28.
  • Greenhill finished the season ranked sixth in program history in the category.

Rake-in Woley

  • Senior third baseman Rankin Woley was the only player in the country to finish the season ranked in the top 20 in hits (28), doubles (8) and RBI (22).

Cycle watch

  • Junior outfielder Judd Ward hit for the cycle in the season-opening series against Illinois-Chicago on Feb. 15.
  • He became the first Auburn player since Clete Thomas in 2005 to accomplish the feat.
