SEC Cross Country Championships Set For Friday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Oct. 26, 2020)-----The Southeastern Conference and LSU will serve as host of the 2020 SEC Cross Country Championships Friday at the University Club in Baton Rouge, La. The meet will be televised live on the SEC Network.

The women's 6K race is scheduled for a 9:05 a.m. CT start, while the men's 8K race will begin at 10 a.m. CT. An awards ceremony will follow the men's race. Admission to the 2020 SEC Cross Championships is free and open to the public. All fans in attendance will be required to wear face masks, and physical distancing will be mandatory. This marks the fourth time LSU has served as host of the SEC Cross Country Championships and the first time since 2006.

In the most recent national rankings, six SEC women's teams were ranked among the top-15: No. 1 Arkansas, No. 5 Ole Miss, No. 11 Kentucky, No. 13 Missouri and No. 14 Tennessee. Four SEC men's teams are ranked: No. 4 Arkansas, No. 5 Ole Miss, No. 12 Kentucky and No. 13 Tennessee.

Ole Miss has won the last two SEC men's titles, while Arkansas has won each of the last seven women's crowns. Arkansas and Tennessee lead the way with 25 all-time SEC men's cross country championships, while Arkansas has 20 women's titles to lead all teams.
