The Southeastern Conference announced its 2020 cross country awards on Monday as voted on by the league's head coaches.
The men's recipients include Ole Miss' Mario Garcia Romo (Runner of the Year), Kentucky's Matt Duvall (Freshman of the Year) and Arkansas' Chris Bucknam (Coach of the Year).
The women's recipients include Alabama's Mercy Chelangat (Runner of the Year), Taylor Ewert (Freshman of the Year) and Arkansas' Lance Harter (Coach of the Year).
Garcia Romo won the SEC men's title with a time of 23:32.9, and he finished in the top three of all four of Ole Miss' meets this fall. Duvall won one meet during the regular season and was twice named SEC Freshman of the Week. He led Kentucky in all three of its meets.
Chelangat won the SEC women's title with a time of 19:46.5, and she finished in the top three in three meets during the fall season. Ewert was the top female freshman finisher at the SEC Championship and placed in the top four in a pair of meets this fall.
Bucknam guided the Arkansas men to their 26th overall SEC title, while Harter guided the Razorback women to their eighth consecutive SEC crown and 21st overall.
It was previously announced that Nick Laning of Vanderbilt and Samantha Drop of Georgia were voted the Men's Scholar-Athlete of the Year and Women's Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
