SEC Player of the Week - Alabama guard John Petty Jr., a 6-foot-5, 184-pound senior from Huntsville, Ala., averaged 20.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.5 3-pointers made while shooting 60 percent (15-of-25) from the floor and 56.3 percent (9-of-16) from beyond the arc in wins at Kentucky and over Arkansas. With the nine made threes on the week, Petty now owns the program record for career 3-pointers made (265), breaking the school's mark in the second half against Arkansas.
SEC Freshman of the Week - Georgia's K.D. Johnson, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound freshman from Atlanta, Ga., averaged 17.5 points while shooting 51.9 percent from the field, including 66.7 percent from 3-point range, against Auburn and at Ole Miss. His 21 points against the Tigers represented the third-most ever by a Bulldog in their debut outing, trailing only Dominique Wilkins and Anthony Edwards.
